Thank you for your request.

Very detailed guide you can download here:
http://www.netcontrol2.com/getfile.php?id=232501.pdf

When the software is installed on teacher and student computers, you can use Scan button on left toolbar to scan the network for available computers.

if the software is installed on remote computer;
and you know IP address of that computer;
and computer is not in Internet,
you can press Insert keyboard in Net Control 2 Administrator, specify IP address or network name and create a connection.

If you need to connect the software over Internet, you need to create a VPN connection between computers first.

I'm sorry, please read it as the following:
"you can press Insert key on a keyboard in Net Control 2 Administrator, specify IP address or network name there, and create a connection."

VPN is Virtual Private Network - a kind of virtual network, which may be built between two computers over Internet. It allows to create secure connection between computers, over standard Internet connection, and will make this connection "visible" on both machines as standard local network: you can share folders, both computers will be visible in Network Neighborhood, you can use remote printing etc. - all network services of local network will be provided for remote computer, as if it is a part of local network.

Yes of course, Net Control 2 software should be installed on both sides: Administrator Component should be installed on your computer and User Component should be installed on each computer, which you wish to control. What components will be installed (Administrator/User), may be set up on Type of Setup page of installer program.
